Erin is a seasoned speaker and prolific author on the topic of business valuation. For more than two decades, she has been involved in serving the community as an educator and a volunteer in professional organizations, including the American Society of Appraisers and the ESOP Association. She also provides continuing education for accounting and legal professionals.
Ms. Hollis is a graduate of Michigan State University, where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Journalism. She also has a master’s in accounting and has earned all credits necessary to sit for the CPA exam in Illinois.
As a seasoned valuation and financial opinions expert, Ms. Hollis is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) with the American Society of Appraisers, which is the most prestigious appraisal organization for valuation professionals. Currently, she sits as an officer on the ASA’s national Business Valuation Committee. As a member of the Committee since 2011, she assists in setting rules, ethics and educational standards for the ASA business valuation membership. She is a past Chicago ASA Chapter president and has held other positions within the ASA organization.
Additionally, Ms. Hollis has served on the Valuation Advisory Committee for the ESOP Association.
Ms. Hollis has completed the Basic Interdisciplinary Collaborative Law Training course from the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois, an organization that trains lawyers, divorce coaches, child specialists, and financial specialists in helping clients reach an out-of-court agreement without litigation and the direct involvement of the court system. As a financial specialist, Ms. Hollis is experienced in valuing the business asset contained within the marital estate, which allows legal advisors to develop financial scenarios and alternatives based on the valuation opinion.
